JETMASTER
Age: 14 Years Old (April 20, 2010)
Height: 17.2hh
Suitability: Under Saddle ~ With Training
Jet is an absolutely gorgeous gelding who knows how pretty he is! He had a short and unsuccessful race career, where he ended up having a paddock accident that injured a tendon and put an end to racing. He is 100% sound, however likely would do best having a flat work or low level jumping career. Jet spent his entire life with his breeders, until he joined us last month due to his breeders health declining and being unable to keep him.
Jet has been extremely well cared for, and quite spoiled, his entire life. He is very much an "in your face" type of horse, and knows how to use his body to take advantage of situations. He loves to make people laugh and doesn't try to be mean on purpose - but he is absolutely not going to be a horse for beginners, children or those who aren't confident.
He has so much potential, but he is mentally immature and really would do best finding his person, who will take the time to bring his ground work and confidence along, before introducing him to under saddle work.
He is UTD on everything (due for vaccinations and dental in Nov 2024). He has worn shoes for the majority of his life, but is now currently barefoot and adjusting well. He gets 2-3lbs of grain daily with 24/7 access to hay. He is great in a stall at night and loves his sleep, but is also learning how to be outside 24/7. Jet is extremely herd bound, especially when he is new to his paddock mates. He is a bit of a cling-on to his friends but settles once he's used to routine.
He's going to make an amazing partner for the right person! His adoption fee reflects that he needs some ground work and training, otherwise the longer he is here and we put more work into him, it will go up.

LIGHTNING CHARGER
Age: 18 Years Old (May 21, 2006)
Height: 15.2hh
Suitability: Companion
Charger is a super sweet gelding who was rescued from a direct ship pen in February 2024, thanks to donors and kind past connections. He is up to date on his vaccinations, dental work and finally got the weight on that took so long for his body to get back to healthy.
Unfortunately it was found that Charger does have a holistic heart murmur, which means it is not recommended that he is ridden unless he goes to the University of Guelph for a full workup and is cleared to do trail riding. He has been ridden before, and there is a possibility that he may pass his testing to be a light trail horse; but currently we do not have capacity to take him there, so our hope is someone out there would be interested in him as a companion!
He is outside 24/7, probably would do best with all geldings, as he can get territorial about mares. He is incredibly sweet and will stand for hours to be loved on and groomed; but he does need a quiet handler as you can tell that this sweet boy has been handled very roughly for a decent portion of his life. He is quick to flinch if you raise your hands or your voice too quickly.

SPICEY VICTOR
Age: 14 Years Old (April 18, 2010)
Height: 16hh
Suitability: Companion
Mace arrived to us after his racing career came to an end. He came with dropped hind suspensories and severely open wounds on both hind heels from repeated hitting off the racetrack. He did stall rest with us from January to the end of May while we worked to get his hooves trimmed to better support his body, and we worked on healing up his open wounds. Mace is now fully healed on his wounds, however the skin will always be susceptible to re-opening because the tissues are now damaged and not as strong as they would otherwise be. He has also come around his his suspensories to be much better balanced, however they will always be a hinderance to him and have limited his future to just being a companion. They do not stop him from running and playing, and being a super goofy boy.
He is absolutely a favourite in the barn because he has such a fun personality, loves attention and will find cheeky ways to make you laugh. He is currently on Prevequine, and we do recommend he stays on it. Mace will need proper farrier care with someone experienced in rehabilitative trimming to continue to help support his body. He does love a stall at night and having a chance to lay right out and get a good snooze (fun fact - he snores hah!).
This former Western Fair Horse of the Year is extremely deserving of a retirement home who will love him, enjoy him and give him all of the TLC he deserves. He still has so much that he can offer in life even though he cannot be ridden - he would make an amazing therapy horse or babysitter for young horses.
